Taking care of the skin

The skin is the largest part of the body and requires regular and constant care.While some people believe in visiting the spa for regular facial and other sevices other people do not.
A well planned skin care routine can help the signs of aging even though it impossible to reverse major damages.

A lot of Nigerians are faced with the problem of sunburn because majority do not wear sunscreen.
Sunscreen is one of the most important part of skin care routine as it help protect the skin from both UVA and UVB exposure.SPF refers to the sun protection factor in sunscreens that delays sun Induced erythyma(redness)

Another skin disorder is Acne

Acne is a primary concern for a lot of people.It is a skin disorder of the sebaceous(oil) gland which is characterized by comedones and blemishes.Acne is also hereditary, sometimes triggered by hormonal changes.

Acne can be controlled with proper medication but sometimes have side effects .

Acne causes include:
*hereditary/genetics
*clogged follicles
*bacteria 
Triggers include food,skin care products,hormones,stress 

Acne is of 4 different grades
Grade 1:Minor breakouts,mostly open and closed comedones and a few papules.
Grade 2:Many closed comedones,more open comedones and occasional papules and pustules
Grade 3:Red and inflamed,many comedones,papules and pustules
Grade 4:Cystic acne with comedones,papules, pustules and inflammation 

The common medications used in treating acne include;
1.Adapalene,a topical peeling agent similar to retinol.It may be less irritating than trentinoin.
Potential side effect for this are,redness,irritation and photosensitivity.
2.Azelaic,a topical acidic agent that flushes out follicles.
Possible side effects are:drying,redness,irritation and photosensitivity 
3.Accutane,an oral medication similar to retinoic acid used to treat severe acne 
Possible side effects are:severe dryness,birth defects and other health problems.
4.Tazarotene,another retinoid;a topical peeling agent that may be less irritating than trentinoin
Potential side effects are:drying,redness and irritation 
5.Trentinoin(Retin-A).A topical Vit A acid.A strong peeling agent that is drying and also flushes out the follicles.
Potential side effects are;very drying,redness irritation and photosensitivity
Other skin disorders are Skin tags,discoloration,patches, strectmarks,varicose vein and wrinkle.

More than 90% of people  Nigeria are into the trend of skin whitening,lightening and skin bleaching so to day.This is a choice and also objective but whether you are into any of this or not you should know what healthy lighteners to use to bleach or tone the skin
