I Took After My Father When It Comes To Looking Good - Hon Kehinde Odeneye



                          
The outgoing House of Reps lawmaker who represents Ijebu central federal constituency (which consists of Ijebu-Ode/Odogbolu/ Ijebu North –East), Hon. Kehinde Odeneye fondly called OK is one of the stylish lawmakers from Ogun State at  the lower chamber of the National Assembly.

The Accountant turned politician when asked about what inspired his style, said "My father was a stylish person and while growing up despite the fact that I was brought up by my paternal grandmother, I always wanted to look my best in any outfit I wear. So I believe being stylish is all about looking good but I took over my fashion sense from my father." When he wore a native, its always well sewn to fit him and each outfit tells who he is and hardly will one believe he will be fifty in a couple of months.

He was born in October 1969 to the family of Odeneye in Ogbogbo, IjebuNorthEastLocalGovernmentarea. He had his primary education at Ogbogbo Baptist Primary School and proceeded to Ogbogbo Baptist Grammar Schoolfor his secondary education. After that, he proceeded to the TaiSolarinCollegeof Educationfor his Higher School Certificate (HSC) but opted out of Tai Solarin Collegeof Educationwere he dropped the idea of being a teacher and proceeded to the LagosStatePolytechnicwere he bagged a Diploma in Accountancy. He later moved to LagosStateUniversitywhere he bagged a degree in Accountancy and Master’s degree in Finance.  And in 1997 he qualified as a chartered accountant and later became an Associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountantsof Nigeria(ICAN). He is also a fellow of the same institute and fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN).

He started his working career with Olaitan Osinuga & Co, a firm of chartered accountants as an audit trainee in 1991 and rose to become an Audit senior and Audit manager before he left in December 1995 to join Watyem-DKS enterprises limited as the Accounts & Administrative Manager.

He also worked as a manager at the Ernst & Young, a firm of chartered accountants, and also became a Tax, Forex & Investment Manager with NigeriaBottlingCompany. His last place work before venturing into politics was at LM Ericsson Nigeria limited one of the leading Telecommunication outfit then, as their Tax & Treasury Manager between 2007 and 2011.

He is the chairman, Board of trustees, Mother Lifeline Nigeria, he is a member of the Eko Lions Club International and Baptist Men's Fellowship. He is the patron, Egbe Tobalase in Ijebu-Ode, patron, National Council of Women Societies, Ogun State chapter.
