How my love for Adire started over 20 years ago
Talk of one experienced media practitioner whose professional trademark cuts across print, broadcast and public service journalism and Yemi Olowolabi's name will be mention. Aside from being a pen guru, he is well know for his trademark outfit which he had been maintaining for over 20 years when he joined the media firm as a reporter then.
In Ondo state today out of all the commissioner's and political appointees in Gov. Akeredolu administration, is Kampala trademarks had sell him out. It all started like play but today it has become a his brand. According to him, he said I started wearing Kampale popularly called Adire when I was a reporter with Tell magazine and I remember my colleagues do refer to it as a poor man's outfit but due to my love for local fabrics I stalk to it.
It will interest you that in the last 20 years I wore suit only once and that was during my wedding and I also wore Agbada during my late parents burial aside those two occasions am more comfortable in my Adire and it's very simple to wear. Also I will like to say that my outfit is not complete without my Awo cap that comes in various colour.
