The lyalode Egbe Tobalase Obinrin Hajia Sade Kasali recently revealed a lot about the group.
Below are excerpts of her interview with City People Online Fashion and Beauty Magazine Publisher Seye Kehinde.
Tell us about Sade Kasali. Who is she?
Hajia Folashade Asabi Kasali is a God-fearing and energetic Ijebu woman, a seasoned Administrator, good wife & mum and a practicing Muslim. I am the Iyalode Egbe Tobalase Obinrin Obalofin Akile Ijebu.
You are very stylish Tell me about your style
As it is said that looking good is a good business, I like to be trendy with the fabric and attire that conform with the dictates of my body structure relating to my day to day affairs including all shindigs.
Basically, I love to be very comfortable in whatever I put on.
What is life like as the leader of your age-grade group in Ijebu?
Honestly, I must say that it's been to the glory of Allah and the unflinching support of our indefatigable Baba Egbe, His Excellency Otunba Gbenga Daniel, Iya Egbe Ayinba Yemisi Fasawe, our other patrons/matrons and the cooperation of the entire members (Home and Abroad).
Being the Iyalode of my age grade further exposed me to the various intrigues of women, as most of us are from different walks of life and background, but with humility, Honesty, Patience and Wisdom, I tend to glide like no big deal.
Activities of the group has been very demanding and time-consuming though, I manage to cope with good planning. Often time, I assume the role of the servant of the group especially for the love and trust my members repose in me and the ability to deliver makes me wax stronger every passing day. "Iyalode" is an envious leadership role that comes with so much glamour and richness for culture, but I do maintain good leverage and cordial relationship with all members for unity and love to strive amongst us. I love my Egbe with a passion and our ladies are wonderful people.
Egbe Tobalase Obinrin Obalofin Akile Ijebu came to being in 2014. We got the recognition and royal blessing of our loving father, the Awujale and Paramount ruler of Ijebuland, HRM Oba (Dr.) Sikiru Kayode Adetona on the 1st of October, 2014. We will be five this year to the glory of God.
The group is majorly for individual & collective friendship amongst members and at the same time it is for the socioeconomic development of Ijebuland.
The members of the group are in the age bracket of January 1971 and December 1973 from Ijebuland and either by birth or marriage.
