Human hair wigs are worth owning, they’re made from real hair. Human hair wigs needs to be washed regularly because they’re delicate and you need to be careful in handling them.
When you’re about to wash your wig, comb the end of the hair with a wide-tooth comb before getting to the root and make sure it doesn’t snag. Use a wire wig brush for straight or wavy hair and a wide-toothed brush for curly wigs.
Use a high-quality hair shampoo that is suitable for your hair type you are washing. You shouldn’t apply the shampoo directly to your wig instead apply it to the water in your sink and use the soapy water to wash your wig.
Turn the wig inside out and place it in the water. Use your fingers to turn the wig inside out and let the hair” wig fibers” hang loose. Doing this the shampoo gets into the wig cap and eradicate the dirt and oil that the wig cap has absorbed.
Soak the wig inside the shampoo water for 5mins and make sure the wig submerges completely in the water. Don’t move the wig this moment Or squeeze,because the hair can get tangled.
Rinse the wig with cold water and make sure you wash the shampoo off completely so as to avoid the shampoo damaging the wig.
Drizzle some conditioner to the hair, then gently finger comb it. Use a high quality conditioner and you can also use a leave in conditioner .
Leave the conditioner on the wig for few minutes will allow the oil to penetrate the hair and hydrate it, after 2 mins you can rinse the conditioner of with cold water.
Turn the wig right-side out and gently squeeze water out gently . Do not wring or twist the fibers, do not brush the wig while it’s wet, doing so can damage the hair or let it frizz.
Roll the wig up in a towel to remove excess water. Roll the towel tight into a tight bundle,starting from the end that has the wig on it. Press down on the towel, then gently unroll it and remove the wig.
Spray the wig with some conditioning spray to help detangling easier later on, hold the spray 10-12 inches away when spraying on the wig . If the wig is curly add some styling mousse.
Dry out wig by placing it standing straight and facing direct sunlight. Do not brush the wig while it’s wet, this can tangle the hair.
