Africa’s foremost industrialist, Alhaji Aliko Dangote is 63 today, Friday 10th April 2020. But he is not celebrating. Obviously so, because of the situation of things in the country. But the founder of DANGOTE Group will be spending the day alone with his family, thanking God for how far he has brought him, looking back, from the days of his early beginnings as a Trader to how he became a leading manufacturer and now became a global industrialist with tentacles spread over 20 countries in Africa, manufacturing Cement.
That the Kano-born businessman is ageing gracefully can be seen in his new look. He now wears a lot of grey hair due to the stress of running his global business. We recall a joke he cracked a few years back, at a reception when a Publisher greeted him and said, Alhaji, I envy you ooo.
I will like to be with like you. Aliko Dangote simple smiled, removed his cap, bent his head forward and said, my brother, look at my hair. Its all gone grey. I don’t wish that for you. Aliko was only 59 then now he is 63.
We in City People Magazine celebrate this Icon of Industry & Manufacturing in NIGERIA, who his friends call Man Ali.
