FASHION FOCUS SPOTLIGHT

London based media mogul Femi Okutubo and his wife Lola are known for their positive roles in the community. They are prominent and dedicated members of their church where they are also choristers. Not very much focus has been placed on their style and fashion, so this piece beams a light on that, but not before getting to know the couple.

Otunba Femi Okutubo is a man full of passion for what he does and for what he believes in.  He is always one to think on his feet with new and innovative ideas, aiming to make inroads for his businesses. He is a graduate of Economics from Olabisi Onabanjo University in Ogun state Nigeria. He has a master's in the same field from Birkbeck College University of London. He was in the British civil service from 1989-1997 where he served as a welfare Benefits Processor and then later Welfare Benefits Adjudicator.

In 1995 having noticed a gap in disseminating information within the African community in the diaspora, he decided to bridge that gap and give the community a voice because, news from the mainstream media was not telling the Africans in diaspora story as it should do.

Thus, Trumpet Newspaper was born with a slogan  Africans now have a voice. Today he has established other media channels which include Email newsletters, Trumpet TV, Trumpet Media Northwest, and the prestigious Gathering Of Africa's Best (GAB) Awards. His hardwork has now paid off and grown into a media empire of great repute called Trumpet Media Group.

Lola Okutubo is a woman who exudes charm and elegance in a subtle but noticeable way. Not one for too much publicity, so accepting to do this is a triumph.

She is a company secretary who studied Social Sciences at Southbank University. She holds a master's degree in Business and Administration, and, in the last 10 years gained an MBA from the University of Westminster Business School. In 2003 she graduated from the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA) and became a Fellow in 2008. Mrs Lola Okutubo also works in the public sector and is a trustee of a Mental Health organisation.

Over the years Otunba Femi Okutubo has won numerous awards for his services to the Nigerian and African communities in the diaspora. He is a respected community leader, an Entrepreneur, Events facilitator, Speaker, and, Master of Ceremony.

When it comes to style and fashion the couple opt for comfortable styles and designs that cut across the African continent, and, are wearable all seasons. They appreciate the similarities the African outfits have and wear them proudly at most occasions. They are true brand ambassadors for their beliefs in the unity of the African continent.
