...As She holds Classy Wedding/Birthday In Lagos
Popular Lagos female politician Fatee Mohammed is in a happy
mood right now. She got married last Friday in Lagos. It was also her birthday.
So she had a 2 in 1 celebration. But she still kept to the government policy of
social distancing.
She invited only a few guests and it was low key. In this
interview with Citypeople Publisher SEYE
KEHINDE she spoke about why she chose to hold a 2 in 1 event to mark her
birthday and marriage. Below are excerpts from the interview.
Congratulations
on your 2 in 1 event yesterday. Why did you choose to combine your birthday
with your marriage?
Thank you very much. For a while now, I have celebrated my
birthday thanksgiving yearly, it is my way of appreciating God for what He has
done and for what He will still do. However when the pandemic started earlier
in the year, the lockdown and the government directives concerning gatherings,
I started having doubts about the possibility of having a party this year. But
as luck or fate would have it, the orders were reversed and we could have a
gathering as far as we went along with the directives.
As fate would have it again, I was already engaged and thought
it wise to have a 2-1 event.
How
do you feel getting married again? How did you find love?
How I feel getting married again? I will say categorically
that I feel fulfilled and blessed. Gratitude is also one of the feelings, I am
grateful to God who made it happen and with a man after his heart.
How I found love? I was always open minded. Cautious but open
minded. I am the woman who never says never... I knew that I would meet
unserious people, social climbers, users and what have you, I was very
cautious, my heart was opened and my eyes too. When he came, I knew this was
it.
How
did you plan the 2 in 1 event? Who did what?
We planned the 2-1 event with the clear mind set of obeying
the government directives on social gatherings. We deliberately searched for an
event place that fitted what we had in mind. Even if five hundred people came,
there would be nowhere to sit. The hall was made for this season I must say. It
conveniently houses not more than two dozen people.
My planner "Mine and yours events" Mrs
Oluwakemi Ojo knew what I wanted
and she gave me. I wanted it classy but small and that was exactly what I got. My designer who was responsible for my attire is Levaljessie Designs
How
easy was it accepting to settle down with your hubby? How did he sweep you off
your feet?
Like I said earlier, I was open minded and cautious. My
husband is far from a social climber, he is a made man who only wanted a
partner. It was easy falling for him because he fitted the description of my
ideal man. Before he told me his intention, I knew it. He is a lover of family
just like me, a lover of God just like me, see, and those two qualities were
enough for me. I said yes.
You
are a stylish woman and it showed in your outfits yesterday. Who is your
designer or designers?
Yes, I love to look good and my designer already has a clear
view of what I love, she made everything to my taste. She is in Abuja.
You
are a top politician and deep religious person. Tell us how it has been.
In Nigeria, people believe or think that religion and politics
do not go hand in hand, they believe that you can't be a religion person and
still be a politician, they always say you can't serve God and Mammon. Well,
Politics isn't Mammon. God respects authority and implores us to do same. What
is Authority? Politics of course. Leadership.
You can be one and still be good at the other, it is a mind-set,
and it all has to do with mentality, why are you delving into politics? Are
your intentions pure? How much do you love God? If your faith or belief is
shallow, it is easy to uproot it with the chaos of politics. I tell you that
politics is not strong enough to uproot my faith.
