Have you noticed that the
Minister for Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola likes to wear Bow ties
a lot?
Yes, he does. Not that he
doesn't go for the long and regular ties. He also wears them. But more often
than not he wears lovely bow ties which gives him a very dignified look. They look nice on him, no
doubt.
On a lighter note, City people Online Fashion and Beauty magazine recently asked the Honourable Minister why
he likes to wear Bow ties a lot. He answered with a smile.
"I didn't know you guys
noticed that. Yes, I wear Bow ties a lot. But I also wear long ties also."
"My love for bow ties
dates back to when we were young.ln those good old days, as kids, I always love
to have long ties. I always wanted longer ties. But my mum always bought me bow
ties. She always wanted me to wear bow ties.
"In secondary school, we
used to wear long ties but with time I got used to bow ties.lt gives you a
dignified and respectable look.I like the look it gives."
"One other thing is that
I love to knot my bow ties myself. I don't go for the plastic ties or the ones
that have been tied.l don't like plastic ties.l buy normal ties and I knot it myself. I enjoy knotting
my bow ties.l don't like the ready-made bow ties. All my friends know this.
"People often buy me the
already tied ones but I always tell them I don't like it.l like to tie it the
way I want. "
"But having said that, I
think I wear more long ties than bow ties.l like to look good and respectable.l
like the formal look. My job demands it. My profession also demands that I look
formal."
