TRIPPING

Tripping heads off to Portofino, a fishing village in the Italian Riviera coastline which is located southeast of Genoa city. This is a part of Italy believed to have the world's most beautiful seaside towns, with its eye-catching pastel-coloured fisherman's homes lining the Piazzetta.
On the harbour, you will find moored, boats and luxury yatchs.. Portofino is steeped in style and elegance with high-end boutiques and cafès at every turn. Is it posh you may ask, isn't it obvious? Luxury yatchs, boats and high-end boutiques are the giveaway (lol).

Out on a day trip after strict lockdown rules in Italy were relaxed, is Benedicta Ogaganudo and her family. She was dressed in a beautiful lemon yellow print midi dress, perfect to lift the mood of recent times. A great choice of colour to add extra zing to a beautiful day. She seems to be saying, after the rain comes sunshine going by that hue. The day out was very rewarding and refreshing after being locked up at home for months she stated.

Further research confirms that Portofino is the playground of the rich and famous and for that reason, comes in pricey but worth every penny if managed wisely as Benedicta disclosed. She stated that they had meals at Lo Stella restaurant which she recommends, and describes the front of the Riviera as atmospheric making it the perfect therapy to unwind, refresh, and relax after limited movement from your home.

She recommends also as a must visit, the Lighthouse cocktail bar. A very popular spot, (also pricey). They arrived just in time to find sitting space in this spectacularly romantic place with panoramic views. Visiting portofino on a day trip for nearby locals like Benedicta, a meal and drinks suits them just fine.

However as a tourist, the area has a lot more to offer.
Described also as paradise by the sea, Portofino is a must visit destination in Italy. The high seasons are between June and September where you might be lucky to bump into a world famous celebrity or millionaire. Tourist activities include kayaking, diving, sailing, boating, visiting the Museum, the Churches and the Natural park of Portofino which has protected status amongst others.

Finally, exploring Portofino on a pocket friendly angle is a must for tourists on a budget. The advice from #LivinginItalian are:
Do not stay in Portofino. The hotels are for the high and mighty. Book hotels in nearby towns.
Do not park in Portofino. £6.00 an hour is no joke (lol)
Walk or go hiking. It is not only healthy, you will see more and save more.
Buy a drink in a bar like the Lighthouse, but make it go far as you can, so you can take in the breath taking views.
Bring your own pre packed lunch, sit on the harbour, and just enjoy.

Tripping looks forward to visiting Portofino soon. Cheers.🥂
