Aisha Shaba is a beautiful lady
who has made a name for herself in Nollywood.A few days back she spoke to
Citypeople Online about her career and plans for the new year. Below are
excerpts of the interview.
Tell us what you do?
My name is Aisha Shaba, I am the daughter of the famous society influencer and businesses woman Adebisi Okewo Shaba best known as Bisket, and the MD and cousin of the former President Ibrahim Babangida Mahmood Shaba.
I am also an educator and a tv
personality.
How did acting start for you?
Acting started for me in 2010
when my sister jumai Shaba who is also a tv personality asked me to audition
for the popular tv show tinsel on mnet , true story I just returned back from
the Uk and actually thought tinsel was based in South Africa and wanted a
destination experience that paid while having fun lol that’s the only reason I
auditioned. I never expected to get it been in a que of over 1000 people but
they said I had something special and that’s how acting started for me .
When did you start and where?
I started in 2010 as a character
called Tonye , funny name I thought 💠then cause I had never heard such a name
before we actually didn’t shoot in South Africa and I was forced to move to
Lagos which was a bit of a culture shock for me
You're also an educator. Tell us
about it
When I was 15 at school we where
told to write what we want to do when we finished schooling, and I wrote I
wanted to start a school , reason been was because I struggled a lot in school
and felt teachers missed a lot of gaps on why kids where not enjoying the
educational institution, they where no paying attention to pupils social life ,
in child development they teach educators that if a child is not comfortable in
an environment it will be hard to get them to listen and understand, social
development plays a great role in this becoming confident as to do with how
comfortable you are in the environment.
How did your mum take your decision to be an actress years back?
My mum hated the idea first I am
a northern woman and a pastors daughter lol, she was also trying to be a mother
hen my mum is very protective of her children she didn’t want the fame to
attract the wrong ppl towards me.
Tell us about your growing up
years a d where you were born?

night life , we had a big house in GRA , my mum loved children so we had a lot
of people live with us such as the artist sAlawa abeni kids okiki was on of the
girls ( that’s what they called us ) “ the girls “ , Sunday and many of my
