How I Became The Yeye Bewaji Okin Of Itori Egbaland --- London Celebrity Lady, Abike Jagaban Tells Citypeople

London celebrity lady, Abike Jagaban has told Citypeople Magazine how she felt when Olu Itori Egbaland, HRM Oba Abdulfatai Akorede Akamo recently conferred on her the title of Yeye Bewaji Okin of Itori Egbaland.

"I felt highly elated and honoured. Even though I didn't see this coming, however having been considered for the title is such a bonus to me personally. Everything in life is not money. There are things that add value to life than money. Like our elders say “Ti o ba nwa owo lo,ti o pade iyi lona,  kini a fe fowo ra na bio se iyi?” I am super blessed to have bagged that title on a platter of gold just like that. I intend to do justice to it by contributing hugely to humanity in a positive way"

What does the title mean, we asked her? "Bewaji Okin simply means the No1 head of all beautiful women. It means beauty at its peak, a beauty to behold amongst women for Itori land. It's like the beautiful peacock amongst birds too... so it justifies my physical attributes and the beauty of my kind heart to humanity as a whole", she explains.

She recently opened a Fashion house in Lagos. How is the business doing? "Business has been fine" she says.

"My fashion business is doing tremendously well in Nigeria, we could be better if I were to be on ground permanently there but then I only visit to oversee things but we are working on a lot of things to be better and we will sure get there."

She seemed to have been more visible in Nigeria in 2020.What explained that. "Oh yes. I came to Nigeria a lot in 2020 .That year was a challenging year for us all. There was a lot to do in Nigeria. But we got bye.

We have to put all hands on deck to support in putting an end to this pandemic by so doing I have a charity organisation that supports, to ease the tension a bit off people, by seeing to their needs and supporting the less privilege here and there in my little way, we have some unfinished projects that I have to round up in person and also visits my loved ones.

Yes there might be future plans of relocating, we never know what tomorrow holds. I love it there in Nigeria. Home is home after all...moreover my new traditional title will bring me home more often absolutely."
