OSOGBO's Lady Of Style, KEMI FANAWOPO, The CEO Of Abby's Robe, Talks About Her Success Story

Call her one of the stylish ladies in Osogbo, Osun state and you won't be wrong. This is because Kemi Fanawopo is a very stylish lady whose job is to make other ladies stylish. She is the CEO of Abby's Robe in Osogbo. She prefers to be addressed as Simply Kemi. She is not only stylish, she is classy. Once you meet her you will know she is a Fashionista par excellence.


Recently, we got this beautiful lady to tell us her impressive story. She revealed a lot about how she made it in life.

Who is Kemi, the CEO of Abby's Robe, we asked her? "I was born over 4 decades ago to a family of a blue blooded teacher and socialite Prince David Oladejo Babalola and late Princess Abigail Mobolaji Babalola who until her death was a nurse."

"My earlier life was a bit rough and tough because I lost my mother as a toddler. I am the last child and the only girl of seven children and that made survival to be very slim and the huge task of taking care of me and my brothers fell on my father."

"I started primary school at Local Authority Teachers Training College Demonstration School, and then I later moved to St Clares N/P School all in Osogbo where I completed my Primary school education."

"As for secondary school education, I had my junior classes at Anglican Commercial Grammar School, Osogbo and later moved to Osun State School of Science, Ile-Ife where I finished in 1994."

      "I got admitted to Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso where I bagged a degree in B. Tech in Chemical Engineering.

I was posted to Rivers State for my National Youth Service and served with NNPC Port Harcourt Refinery Eleme.

I Started my Fashion outlet Abby's Robe immediately after my service year which has become an household name in Osun State and its environ. My quest for clothing people right irrespective of their sizes, colours, social, economic, political and religious backgrounds made me go into fashion business. I have traversed so many continents of the world."

She is married to Babatunde Fanawopo, a Journalist with Osun State Broadcasting Corporation and blessed with 3 wonderful kids.  She is a goal getter, blunt to a fault and a very sociable person.
