The night of Sunday June 13th, 2021 witnessed the king of premieres as whole of Victoria Island in Lagos was shut down, all roads leading to the popular Ebonylife Plaza, venue of the grand premiere of the much awaited movie “Ayinla”.
“Ayinla” is a movie that mirrors
the life and times of late Apala music icon, Ayinla Omowura who died forty
years ago. Sponsored by First Bank of Nigeria PLC, the movie was produced by a
blend of two generations of filmmakers, Tunde Kelani and Jade Osiberu. The premiere
had several star artists and corporate world gurus in attendance. The movie starred top artists like Adedimeji
Lateef who played the role of the legendary Ayinla Omowura,and Kunle Afolayan
as Ajala.Those that played big roles in the movie include popular Abolanle
Adedayo popularly known as Mr. Macaroni, Jumoke Odetola, Omowumi Dada, Ade
Laoye, Bimbo Ademoye and a host of others.
The premiere saw a constellation
of stars in the entertainment industry amidst lovers of NOLLYWOOD who
trooped-in to be part of the epoch event. Meanwhile they anticipated seeing the
movie that help them relish the good memories of the great Apala icon which
they believed Tunde Kelani has brought to them on a platter of gold.
They were all given a nice treat of food and drinks, as they were ushered into the five screening halls made available for the premiere proper. Meanwhile the movie would be released for cinema on Friday, June 18.
