Lagos celebrity lady, Dr. Taofikat Olatunbosun Kasunmu on Sunday 22nd August, 2021 held a big party to celebrate her 50th birthday, as she launched her book titled “God Beyond Me”.
The party was held at the prestigious Marquee Hall, LTV Complex in Ikeja. It was attended by top officials in the Lagos state civil servants, family, friend, associates and well wishers of the celebrant.
Dr. Kasunmu is a senior civil servant who is well read and dedicated. She is a professional par excellence whose commitment to work is unrivalled. Many of the guests present at the event spoke highly of her as someone who is strict, but very accommodating and fun to be with.
The birthday party was a glamorous one, as all and sundry at the event had fun. It saw variety of complimentary remarks made by dignitaries about the celebrant. They extolled her as a lady who has enviable qualities at home, and in her work place, not ignoring remarks made about her zeal for academic excellence.
Worthy of mention at the party was the music presentation done by the first Son of the celebrant, Onoabhagbe Ehizojie. He dedicated the track to his lovely mum at 50, where he praised her to the high heaven. The music was so alluring that he has a chorus chanting “Tunbosun Taofikat”. This rented the air at the tail end of the music, as everyone in the hall kept chanting it. The celebrant was highly elated and proud of her boy as she hugged and danced with him. The moment saw everyone moved to dance and celebrate the wonderful family.
This was immediately followed by the review and launch of the book written by the celebrant titled “God Beyond Me”. The book was reviewed by Barrister Mrs. Aderera Adeyemi. During the book review, the learned reviewer recommended the book to all and sundry stating that it’s loaded lost of life experience faced by the author which could serve as a source of motivation to them.
The book was launched as guests and dignitaries gave their support.
Two beautiful cakes were designed for the occasion. The cakes were cut amidst glitz and glamour with the children of the celebrant, family, friends, associates and well wishers.
They came out to have photo sessions with the celebrant of the day. Meanwhile,a troop of dancers from the Lagos state Council of Art and Culture thrilled guests with their highly exciting performance.
Queen of Waka Music, Alhaja Salawat Abeni was the musician of the day. Her grand entrance into the event centre was ground breaking. The veteran singer was styled in the Ankara Aso-ebi sewn for the event. She was accompanied by 2 women who stood by her throughout the party. Her stage performance was great and the classic music collections she rolled out set the event agog as many people danced and had fun.
The party was properly planned. Everything was in order. Food and drinks were in abundance, and made available by waiters on request.
Fast rising Comedian, MC Jimmy Jairo was on top of his game. He anchored the party so well that he stole the show by making guests feel at home and relaxed. His highly creative and trendy gist was part of what excited the guests. They had a worthwhile party experience.
