Lace is a fragile fabric that is made of yarn or thread, it can be made by using the machine or hand.

Origination of Lace

Lace cane into existence in the 15th century. Linen threads were used for making lace also the silk, gold and silver thread. Lace fabric was luxurious back then and it drove the European economy really well. 

In the 19th century, the threads of lace were usually made of linen and later on, cotton threads became common cotton thread was economical but less satisfactory which resulted in the deterioration of designs.

Lace fabrics are extensively used in home decor products and the clothing industry. The mesh-like appearance gives a classy and delicate touch to a fabric. Narrow lace is used as trims to embellish cloth while broader lace is used as decorative on curtains, table cloths, and outfits.






Pros and Cons of Lace

Pros: it looks stunning and feminine, it has a perfect and a romantic look.
The fabric is an ideal choice for all kinds of events “weddings, birthdays, naming ceremonies and burial ceremonies “.
It’s breathable and has a pleasant texture.

Cons: it can be easily damaged
It’s expensive
It can be used for separate elements or combined with other materials.
It’s preferably laundered with the hands instead of a washing machine depending on the texture and embellishments on it.
