Lola Adewole is a big name in fashion. Her label Fashion For Life is even bigger. She lives in Accra Ghana. That is her base.
Why did she decide to live in Ghana?
My choice to live and run my brand from Accra was not planned from the get go. I went to Accra about 10 years ago for other work interests.
I fell in love with the Ghanaian capital city; the charm, friendliness and originality; eminently laid-back and welcoming, it is the perfect place to seek a new perspective on creativity and to harness ones potential.
In addition, Ghana has enjoyed relative stability politically and economically which filters through the stratum of even the most basic conformation of an ideal modern habitat , all of the above mentioned , adds up to a great experience and a significantly better value to work and life.
What stands her brand out?
Fashion for life, better known as FFL was created by Lola Adewole in 2006. Lola’s first design was created out of boredom, at a time when she was idly waiting for her post graduate result in the UK.
Our first successful collection was the introduction of the empresskaftanin 2008.
Currently, we have added a few more business units to include , crockery , footwear and household decor.
The ideal “FFL customer” is one who leans more to the “classic fashion persona “one who prefers to keep their outfits “timeless”.
We are currently operating in 5 African Cities: Lagos , Accra, Abidjan , Douala, & Johannesburg.
Our next focus is on growing our retail outlets in Lagosand Accra, while also focusing on our new business units; household and crockery items.
FFL has been positioned as a lifestyle brand.
It’s worth mentioning that we are also heavily involved in charitable activities.
