Congratulations on your cooking programme on TV.lts been how many years now?

Thanks so much, it's been the grace of God and much support from good people like you. Foodies and Spice is 6 yearson TVand Onlinenow and right now we have delved into producing a below the line, Experiential Activations for brands which we still channel to our online and TV audience

Tell us about your Chinese trip. What did you go for?

Sometime in 2014, we included Travel and Lifestyle into the brand Foodies and Spice. What we do is to travel to various countries and showcase their food, culture and lifestyle. We started with a full series on Bordeaux,France. Then 3cities in Azerbaijan including Baku, then this Year we decided to the 5cities in China. China was huge for us as me and my team seem to be the first group to use the China group tourism Visa which was just approved for Nigerians. And since i worked in partnership with a Chinese travel agency who funded it all expense paid, it was super easy for me. The series is on TV right now and also on my YouTube channelwww.youtube.com/ginaehikodi. It is tagged Foodies and Spice AMAZING CHINA

How did you start the Food Programme on TV?

A cooking show has been an idea I had conceived even as a teenager and along the line, everything kept falling in place for it to happen. Yes there were huge obstacles like financial and right timing but in the long run it happened and here we are

How have you been able to sustain it?

Sustaining a TV show in Nigeria is no child’s play as over here, we pay TV airtime rather than TVpaying you for content. I first started by partnering with WAPTV for the first 3 years and after that partnership i got fund from my husband (as I just got married then) to add to my production money. And just then... Boom! Lots of brands began to knock on my door... I stay very grateful to all the brands who have and still working with me. It has been amazing, I can't say anything less. Thanks be to God

You write about recipes and food. What is the message you have been passing across?
We all know how food is very important to life, it cannot be overemphasized. Apart from making the Art and Act of cooking very easy for my followers and viewers, many a time i have gotten messages on how this show have set a career path for so many of them. I have been able to raise new people in the food business, new food bloggers, new caterers and new Youtubersfrom them just watching and following me. I have a lot of mentees and i am so grateful because this is far more than the dream

What advice do you normally give people about what to eat healthily?
Moderation is Key. You eat but you have to be concious of what is going inside of you. Sometimes it is not about how expensive the Food is but the nutritional value of what you are eating. So there must always be a balance
