WHY I AM PART OF SOUPASTARS COOKING COMPETITION – Ibinabo Fiberesima

Ibinabo Fiberesima is a damn good professional actress who has paid her dues.
She has made a name for herself in the movie industry. This beautiful celebrity lady is one of those taking part in Regina Askia Williams cooking competition called Soupastars.

A few days back she told City people Online Fashion and beauty Magazine why she chose to take part in this competition is coming up in December.

Below is her interview...

HOW DO YOU SEE REGINA ASKIA’S COOKING INITIATIVE? WHY DID YOU AGREE TO JOIN?

I see the initiative as very fresh and timely too. SOUP-A-STARS couldn’t have come at a better time. We live in a time when people eat all sorts without considering what it does to their bodies and health. From what I learned about the show, it is not just some cooking competition, but also a platform where viewers would be educated on the immense benefits of cooking with unprocessed and genetically unmodified foods. It’s edutainment

Amidst the excitement will be nuggets on health benefits and the nutritional value of our foods especially our native foods and recipes. I believe it’s going to teach healthier cooking methods, promote food choices. SOUP-A-STARS will also showcase indigenous chefs and their industry. It’s all too exciting if you ask me and I cannot wait for it to commence. I agreed to join SOUP-A-STARS simply because I love cooking.

Whenever I can, I do my cooking myself and I am very particular about my ingredients and where I get them. I eat healthy too and make sure those around me imbibe the same culture. On a good day, you’d catch me at any of Lagos’ popular markets haggling over pepper and tomato. Na me be that o! That’s how I roll.

WHAT’S YOUR ROLE IN IT?

I shall be participating in SOUP-A-STARS as a Celebrity Chef and I am expecting to slug it out with other chefs on the show. Regina Askia-Williams is my bae and I am privileged to support her in any capacity I can to ensure she succeeds in her endeavour. While on the show I shall ensure my best not only to the organizers but to the teeming viewers who shall be watching it and lend my voice to healthy dieting.

WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN UP TO THIS YEAR IN TERMS OF MOVIE PROJECTS?

Its been a busy year. I've done a few jobs for the screen but crucially I have been putting finishing touches to my movie MIEBAKA which was produced and shot in Okrika town, Rivers State. Its a story woven around the culture of my people and something that will awe the audience. I have been particular about every aspect of the movie and have brought my experience over the years to bear. You just have to watch out for it. I am also the coordinator of the Miss Earth Beauty Pageant.

Miss Earth brought to the fore with a vision to channel the beauty pageant entertainment industry as an effective tool for promoting environmental awareness and finding a lasting solution to the dangers posed by wrong environmental practices. I successfully conducted the 18th Edition of the competition which produced Miss Modupe Garland as a winner. She is presently contesting in the Philippines and I had to see to her travel and preparatory incidents as the Nigerian ambassador.

WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON NOW APART FROM THE REGINA ASKIA PROJECT?

Well, having successfully organized the Miss Earth Pageant, of course, I’'m already planning for next year’s showpiece which shall be bigger and better by Gods grace. I am also concluding pre-production on a TV Show titled GOING GREEN with IBINABO which strictly borders on speaking against and correcting wrong environmental practices with practical examples.

I am very particular about the environment which is my primary call and use this opportunity to call on everyone reading this to properly dispose of their waste in order to have a cleaner environment. Plant trees wherever you can and let’s leave the earth better than we met it for the sake of the future generations. God bless you.
