Tell me a bit about your make up business...How old is it?
Dmakeuproom is a makeup brand that caters to enhancing the beauty of the modern day woman. We cater to different types of clients from all works of life from the young to the old, we have trained well over 50 students who have become makeup entrepreneurs and are doing well in their various fields.
We have been in the makeup industry for about 8 years now.
Why did you go into the business?
Very interesting question but I keep it brief, I have always loved to draw as a child I drew on walls and anywhere I can put a pencil to I will start drawing, I was to intern with Dr Bruce Enobrakpea but a friend convinced me to go into financial accounting and that I couldn’t make money from art but as fate will have it my passion kicked in and I went to train at the house of Tara and also took a course with Nicky Posley in New York with Temptu pro and started my own makeup business.
What services do you offer?
We offer Makeup training and various types of makeup for the everyday modern woman.
We also sell different cosmetics from various Nigerian and international brands.
What thrills you about what u do? What has kept you going?
What thrills me about what I do is knowing that I have the power to cosmetically and psychologically transform the self-image of a person.
Good customer relation has keep us in business. It is good to have a good customer relation as we have a lot of loyal clients that will always use our services.
Tell me a bit about ur growing up Where were you born and where did you grow up?
I was born into a large family of Chief Franco Olugbake who was a journalist and the founding fathers of the Nigerian sea men trade union, I was born in a border town Gedrome in Seme, Lagos. I grew up with a lot of multinationals in Palmgrove estate and I had a knack for languages and art, my dad would often scold me about drawing on his wall, it was quite obvious I loved to draw.
Which schools did u attend and what course?
I attended St. John’s and Maryland Comprehensive then had my higher national diploma in Banking from The Polytechnic Ibadan.
