Sometime in 2016, Samira Hunjan a British tattoo artist collaborated with Tod's, an Italian luxury leather company, to create a romantic but strong and powerful accessory. Thus the Double T tattoo, the 70s inspired, limited edition, messenger bag, was born.
Hunjan since the age of 14 knew she wanted to be a tattooist. She was influenced by designer Jean Paul Gaultier.

'Rewind one's thought to Nigeria of the 80s, as Tod's bag has a similar to a fashion statement bag called the "Hausa bag" A highly coveted leather bag mostly tan in colour. Some were plain while some were adorned with assorted designs. It was a cross-body messenger style bag. Same as the Double T.
Fashion all over the world evolves and revolves. Each time an old trend resurfaces it gets given a facelift. Being one for fashion sustainability and a supporter of the Made in Nigeria brand? Patronizing the Hausa bag seller as against buying a fake Tod's handbag just to keep up with the Jones is a better option.
