Talk of one Ogun monarch who dresses very well,and his name will surely pop up. This is because he is a man of Style. The Alaperu of Iperu is a man of  sartorial elegance.

He is also a very sociable person.

"Socialite Oba" ,"Oba toh mo Fashion", "Apekun'Joye" are some of his monikers.And his most recent is "Oba Governor". The reason for this is not known to few, but many : not only is the present Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun from Iperu, the number one man in the Gateway state is Kabiyesi Alaperu's Royal brother from adjoining Royal families of the Prolific Town of Akesan.

 

The present Alaperu of Iperu, Oba Adeleke Idowu Basibo(Odoru V), who will clock 64 in about 5 weeks,has spent 19 years on the throne( in about 7 weeks) has defined Class, Style and Grace in a manner worthy of applause.

Almost 2 decades after, his clean appearance on a consistent basis at outings deserves all the accolades.

 

Known for his signature aso-ebi caps, Oba Adeleke Idowu Basibo was born on March 13, 1957. He attended Saint James Primary school in the 1960’s. After which he proceeded to the Polytechnic of Ibadan for his advanced level programme( A levels) . He proceeded to University College, London, where he studied Marine Economics. Upon his return from London, he realized his passion for the international market hence decided to get a Diploma in Importing and Exporting from the College of technology,  Yaba.

 

A Jerusalem pilgrim ; A Justice of Peace recipient ; A Fellow of the Institute of Import & Export ; A Fellow of Institute of Chartered Mediators & Conciliators, Alaperu's 19 year reign in Iperu Akesan can be summarized in one word : REMARKABLE.

From his style of rallying all Iperu sons & daughters home & abroad for the development of Iperu, to his unwavering support of Iperu indigenes towards achieving giant strides(case in point, Governor Dapo Abiodun), to his modern approach of maintaining peace & tranquillity in the town, the present Alaperu seems to have the "divine" template for leadership.
