Meet the Other Woman Who Is Like
A Mum To Omobonike Odegbami-Leigh In The US.
Omobonike Odegbami-Leigh is one
of the many Nigerians making our country proud abroad. She lives in the US
where she teaches in one of the reputable universities there.
She is the District VC
International Programmes at WCCCD.She lives in Northville, Michigan.
The big news is that apart from
her biological mother, Mama Mojisola Ogunsina-Odegbami who recently turned
70, Omobonike has another elderly woman she calls her 2nd mum. She is 80. They are
related.
Her name is Mrs. Florence
Omowaiye." She is my Big Mummy, that turned 80", Bonike explained to
Citypeople recently. "She helped raise me in Dallas Texas in the 70s and
was instrumental in my development over the years. Her two daughters, Mofoluke Falade (you
covered her recently) and Funmi Abiara (Florida, USA) are like cousins to me.
We all attended the same high school (Immaculate Heart Comprehensive High
School Maryland, Lagos). Foluke lived
with my family in the US until she got married and had her first baby."
"Mrs. Omowaiye is a trained
Nurse from Oye, Ekiti, and lives in the US."
"This would be a good way to
honor her. My hope is that her being like my mom has been all rewards and no
regrets for her", she told Citypeople.
