Ours is a period when our personality defines who we are, where we go, who we meet, and of course what we get.

These days, deals are sealed not solely based on our rich resumes or where we are coming from. Our personality opens or locks the door, as the case may be, and that is why fashion has become elevated in the scheme of things in our private and public lives. 

 

The fact is when we meet someone new, we construct our first impression of them in under one second based on how they look. This is why we need to strike a balance between our aspirations and the way we look.

My name is Halimah Folake and I would be your host in the famous online fast-selling fashion magazine, City People, to bring you stories on what goes on in the Fashion world.

This would capture many aspects of what is in vogue such as beauty, Skincare, makeup, hair, jewelry, etc. We would be talking about a variety of issues and these include common mistakes women make in fashion or beauty; best-dressed celebrities and their skincare routine; how to stand out in a crowd; how to rework past trends to fit into modern taste; what to consider when selecting clothes; how to be more stylish; fashion tips that make you stylish, and many more. 

I’m a graduate of Accounting from the University of Ilorin and a masters degree holder in Financial Management. I’m also an associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, and a fashion enthusiast. 

I will draw from my rich experience in the corporate world, spanning a period of 13 years, where I have grown my passion and high taste for fashion.
