Funmi Ogidan-Bello is a beautiful lady. She is stunning. She is dashing. She is one of the wave-making actresses in London. She is also a film maker. And a good one at that. A few days ago, she told CityPeople her story.
Below
are excerpts.
Please
introduce yourself to us and what you do for a living
My name is Funmi Ogidan Bello. I am Agile Delivery
Manager/Scrum Master
How did acting start for you?
I had done a few stage dramas prior to my first professional
experience back in 1999 when I officially started my acting career. I was part
of the famous campus comedy Twilight zone; that was how it all started.
You
have been acting now for how long?
I have been acting since 1999 till now.
How challenging has it been sustaining your
interest in acting abroad?
It's has been very challenging because the support from the
marketing media is lagging. Resources and sponsorship is a far cry to what our
counterparts back in Nigeria benefit from. However, we are not losing hope.
Who
are those actors you roll with abroad?
Most Actors here are my colleagues; hence we often times meet
on set of productions. However, I have decided to take a break from the UK film
industry for now and focus on doing more productions in my home country.
Where
were you born? Where did you grow up? Which schools did you attend?
I was born and bred in Victoria Island, Lagos city Nigeria.
I attended Airforce Primary School V/Island Lagos. St. Maria
Gorretti Girls School, Benin City, State High School, Lagos.
Ladoke Akintola University of Technology. Oyo State. London
Business School of Finance.
I have produced 2 movies so far. 1. More than a woman and Made
for Gidi (part 1&2). I started my major acting career back in Nigeria, 1999
to be precise. My first feature was Twilight zone, Song of the Giant and a few
stage dramas before I relocated to the UK and I have since starred in a number
of TV series and feature movies. I have also received several awards and
recognition.
Tell
us about your love for dressing well.
I believe fashion is not what you learn but it is an affinity
that burns within. I love to dress up and look good, in modesty of course.
